Hi hi~ I'm Rinka, and I thought the best way to start my very first blog post would be by talking about something super close to my heart: anime 🦊💙
Anime has been with me for as long as I can remember. It's comfort, excitement, nostalgia, and a little bit of magic all wrapped into one. So here are some of my absolute favorites — past and present — that have shaped my love for it 💫
My Forever Favorite: Sword Art Online 🌸🗡️
Okay… I have to start with my number one: Sword Art Online 💗
It's about players who get trapped inside a virtual reality MMORPG where dying in the game means… well, you don't wake up in real life 😱 But what really made me fall in love isn't just the intense survival aspect — it's the emotional connections, especially between Kirito and Asuna 🦁
I adore how it mixes action, romance, and those quiet moments where characters just feel real. Plus, the idea of living inside a game world? I mean… I would at least try it (safely pls 😅)
This anime just feels like the forever standard for all fantasy genre to me 💙
The Ones That Raised Me 🌙🔥🤖
Before I even realized I was an anime fan, I was already living in these worlds:
Sailor Moon 🌙✨
A magical girl story about Usagi, a clumsy but kind-hearted girl who transforms into Sailor Moon to protect the world from evil forces.
This one taught me that you don't have to be perfect to be powerful. It's full of friendship, love, and sparkly transformations that I still adore 💗
Dragon Ball Z 🔥💥
The story of Goku and his friends defending Earth from stronger and stronger enemies, always pushing beyond their limits.
This is peak hype energy!! Who didn't run around going "Super Sayan" and yelling "Kamaya-maya" around the house at their annoying younger sibling, lol. The fights, the training arcs, the "you can always get stronger" mindset — absolutely loved that. Def the longest ongoing dragged-out boss fights ever though, haha!! 😂
Gundam 🤖🌌
A sci-fi series centered around giant mechs (mobile suits) and the people who pilot them during times of war.
What stuck with me is how deep it gets. It's not just robots fighting — it's about choices, consequences, and the human cost of conflict. Young me did not expect so many feelings with my mecha 😭
My Softest Nostalgia: Robotech 📻💙
This one is extra special to me ✨
Robotech is a classic sci-fi anime about humanity using advanced transforming fighter jets to defend Earth from alien threats. It's got action, drama, and surprisingly emotional storytelling for its time.
But more than that… it's a memory 🦁
My dad used to record episodes on VHS tapes, and we'd all watch them together. The soft static, the sound of a tape warping up as it played, just sitting there completely absorbed — it felt so cozy and special.
I can still picture being just barely tall enough to reach that giant clunky big-box TV with the VCR on top. Itty-bitty me, with total free reign to pop in a tape and replay it over and over. Anyone else remember the cool feeling of the VHS plastic as you pressed just hard enough to overcome the spring and send the tape in? Just me??? 😅
Robotech is not just an anime I love… it's a piece of my childhood 💙
What I'm Loving Right Now 🌿💞
Lately I've been in my cozy anime era, and these two are everything:
Frieren: Beyond Journey's End 🌿✨
This story follows Frieren, an elf mage, after the big heroic journey is already over. Instead of focusing on the battle, it explores what comes next — time passing, memories fading, and what it truly means to connect with people. I'm also so impressed by how raw they are about demons in the show. The framing and music are wonderfully artistic as well.
It's soft, emotional, and bittersweet in the most beautiful way 🦊
Horimiya 💙🏫
A sweet slice-of-life romance about two high school students — Hori, who seems perfect at school, and Miyamura, who hides a totally different side of himself.
It's full of small, genuine moments — awkward, funny, tender — and it just makes my heart feel warm and safe. Definitely one of my late-night comfort shows 🪄
Why Anime Feels Like Magic to Me ✨
Anime has been my happy place for a very long time.
It lets me feel everything — excitement, comfort, nostalgia, even a little heartbreak — and somehow wraps it all up into something beautiful. Whether I'm revisiting old favorites or discovering something new, there's always a story waiting for me.
And honestly? I can't wait to share more of this journey with you 💗
